We are victims of a society that we were never supposed to succeed in anyway.
Down to the 50/50 conversations. Dating outside of the race in order to get ahead in life. Downing each other for the sake of saying who’s more at fault for the position we find ourselves in living in America. Some would say “well that’s just YOUR fyp, explore page, algorithm, etc.”
Yeah, no lol. Everything is pushed for a reason. Just as much as the real important information can be suppressed. We are struggling with relationships because we’re trying to navigate relationships how white people do. Not what is natural to us. Sadly, A lot of us don’t know what is natural because we’ve been engrained to see white relations as the standard. Move out at 18. Move even further away at 21. Married by 25 and only see family on Thanksgiving, Xmas & Easter. That’s so dumb…& guess who we learned that way of living from?
All in all, my main question is what can we do to block out the noise and really get back to what’s natural for us when it comes to relationships in the black community?
